What’s New in LinkedIn

Are you in The Top 1% !!!!! – Did you get the notification ?

Linked In has been sending out notifications to its users this week congratulating them for being in their top 1%, 5% and 10%

When asked what value being in the upper crust confers on its users, a LinkedIn rep replied that “The practical upside to being the top 1% or 5% is that we believe the more engaged you are on LinkedIn, the better you will be in the job that you currently have, and the better connected when you are seeking a new job.”

Better not to worry too much about this if you are in the lowly 90% of users – as being in the 1% means you are 1 of 2 million ppl on Linked in with this ranking!!

Really what counts is that you are connecting with good contacts – people who are relevant to your career and industry, not that you have over 500 connections.

There are ways to use Linked In to be effective in networking and connecting with relevant people, as well as using business pages to make targeted connections with clients and customers.   We are happy to discuss these with you anytime and work together to  integrate Linked In into your AWESOME* Social Media and Customer Experience Marketing Strategy.

The latest on LinkedIn:

“If you don’t currently have a LinkedIn company page, it’s time you set up an account.  You can provide an overview of your company, display all of your accomplishments (especially awards your company has received), capture more potential clients, and reach qualified job seekers.  The site also has powerful tools called Insights.  Insights gives you information on all of the following:

  • Follower demographics
  • Company update impressions
  • Follower progress (recent users, new followers, member growth0
  • Viewer engagement
  • Visitor demographics ( seniority, industry, region)
  • Unique visitors

What better way to see if you’re marketing efforts are working!”  READ MORE from http://www.surefiresocial.com at this link:

Result of Twitter and LinkedIn parting ways earlier this summer – via Mashable, Sept, 2012.
“….. if you start publishing more content to LinkedIn — regardless of where that content resides — it will get more visibility amid the now far less competitive LinkedIn feed. Want more blog traffic from LinkedIn? Post more blog content on LinkedIn. Want more LinkedIn followers to convert on your landing pages? Post more landing pages on LinkedIn. Want more of your LinkedIn followers to be Twitter followers? Post more Twitter content on LinkedIn. It’s a lot easier to get your content to stand out in the LinkedIn crowd, now that a lot of the riff raff has been cleaned out.”Read more: http://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/33610/Facebook-Sees-1000-Jump-in-LinkedIn-Referral-Traffic-After-Twitter-Dumps-LinkedIn.aspx#ixzz2736VLs8R
